Electrician Exam: To Prepare with Confidence Know The Subject Areas
What's on an electrician exam and how it's set up can change depending on the type of license you are going after.
Most electrician exams, however, cover a wide range of topics, such as electrical theory, code requirements, practical application, math, and safety.
MASTER ELECTRICIAN
There are two parts to the Master Electrician Exam. The written test for Master Electrician has been changed so that it now has two parts: NEC Knowledge and Calculations.
The test's content hasn't changed, but the calculation questions and the NEC knowledge questions have been split into two different parts. Both parts of the written test are made up of multiple choice questions. You will need to get at least a 70% on each part to pass.
You only have to retake a part that you failed; a part that you passed will never go away. Please keep in mind that if you finish the first part of your exam early, the time does NOT carry over to the next part.
The fee for both parts of the Master Electrician exam is $78. The fee to retake an exam is $78 if you fail one or both parts.
